Welcome to BJ Enterprises - CACFP

BJ Enterprises is committed to promoting better nutrition in Arizona family child care homes by enrolling providers in the Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

The CACFP is a Federal program sponsored by the USDA Food and Nutrition Services. It was established to provide nutrition information and cash reimbursements to home day care providers. This program is available to all providers who comply with Arizona child/staff ratios for home day care. The primary goals of the CACFP is serving nutritious meals to children and help establish positive eating habits in the earliest stages of development.

All children 12 years and under enrolled in a participating day care home are eligible, regardless of income, race, age, color, sex or national origin. This includes the provider's own children if they qualify for meals under USDA income guidelines.

USDA Proposes New Science-Based Meal Patterns for CACFP

The USDA proposed new science-based nutrition standards for meals provided through its CACFP. With over 3 million children receiving meals from the CACFP each day, the newly proposed meal patterns will help ensure children have access to healthy, balanced meals throughout the day.

The new rules also proposes that meals served to children in family day care homes will include a greater variety of vegetables and fruits, more whole grains, and less sugar and fat. These changes support the ongoing efforts of numerous parents, and the many public and private organizations that serve children, to solve the obesity crisis. Read more...
